(read in the deep “trailer voice” dramatically)
This summer,
One Man,
A bunch of awesome movies,
One density DESTINY!
I think this may be it! The summer where all the huge blockbusters, the studios put so much hype into, actually live up to. Here are the the movie which I am looking forward to (not because they’re terribly interesting or artistic) because they are fun & don’t suck (ie. paul blart or fool’s gold esque)
Star Trek: saw it & thought it was amazing. Girlfriend, who hates Star Trek & generally anything to do with Sci-Fi agrees it was good. So this even appeases the general audiences, which I think was the plan: good work JJ Abrahams. Also check out the site: www.startrekmovie.com (it was featured on FWA fyi designer nerds) its pretty cool.
Terminator Salvation: haven’t seen yet but if the movie is intense enough to get Christian Bale to go on that rant to the production people, it has to be good. My only thing is I have to see this soon because all the trailers & ads everywhere are giving the movie away too much. Stop showing me all the best parts!!
UP Pretty much any Pixar movie I’m going to automatically claim as gold. Anything they make is good, fun, & timeless. They do a great job at making movies that kids love, but also have little jokes throughout that make parents not want to kill themselves during the 2+ hours they’re there.
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra I was skeptical of this when I heard the director from the Mummy(s) was directing this, but having seen the previews I think I have to see it. My other gripe with this is the kid from 3rd Rock from the Sun Joseph Gordon-Levitt is playing Cobra Commander. I’ll have to rewatch the show but from what I remember Cobra Commander was more of a bad ass, I dunno if Levitt is tough enough, but I did he he was kind of tough in “Killshot“even though I’ve never seen it.
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (caution: link has loud annoying music on the site) first one, amazing & from the trailers this one looks equally as good. If you’re not into the whole nerdy robots in disguise theme, at least go for the new shots of Megan Fox.
X-MEN Origins: Wolverine: this is actually lower on my list, I have yet to see it. I’m a huge X-men, marvel fan, but after the trailers & that whole leaked version crap this dropped on my list. Gripes:
1. Liev Schreiber casted as Sabertooth, he is a terrible casting in my opinion. He should’ve been bigger & at least blonde (like they casted from the first X-men).
2. Gambit jumping off his staff and destroying a bridge (from the trailer), dumb.
3. Cyclops being in this movie. why? worst change from the comics ever.
Finally this movie probably flew under some your radars but below is the trailer of what I believe to be the greatest movie not just of this summer, but possibly of all time… enjoy:
yes this is a real movie, don’t believe me believe all the award shown in the trailer.
